A few months ago, I went to my tribe's powwow on Sugar Island. I've been to other powwows across the US over the years, but this was the first time I've been to the one by my tribe. There was something special about it that felt like coming home. This is how we reclaim our truth. This is the power of owning the narrative. This is why storytellers are our most powerful allies.
