submerged

Updated: Jan 9

Deep blue and sapphire-colored water with gentle waves and light reflections that's hard to see which side is up. The mood is calm and serene, with a slightly abstract feel.

I don't like to tell you this

but when I cross the line

I see you there too

waiting, daring me

with your bedazzled eyes of sapphire

          to take the final step

until I am wholly submerged

           below frost-sunken narratives

so deep there's no

orientation

           so I pick a direction

                 and swim

          never knowing

             which way

                I will emerge

Beautiful imagery throughout this poem. The feeling of uncertainty and emotional depth really stayed with me after reading. Pieces like this deserve careful presentation, and a good editing service can help preserve the writer’s voice while refining every line.
